Triglycerides or Fats – Structure

Triglycerides or fats, are compounds produced from the combination of glycerol and three fatty acid molecules. They are compounds formed through dehydration reactions. They are also known as triglyceride or triacylglycerol.

Examples of triglycerides include solid like coconut oils or liquid like vegetable oil at room temperature. Basically, triglycerides are fats from the food we eat.
